Tenby Male Choir

Hello Roy - got your name and details from your Camera Club website As secretary of Tenby Male Choir I'm contacting you to see if we could mutually help each other The problem we have is that in order for us to take formal/semi-formal photo's when in concert we need one of our choristers to take photo's using my Nikon D40 camera - trouble is that the chorister is needed on stage as well! With all due respect to some of our lady supporters they try but aren't very successful! Technically it's quite a challenge to get decent shots without unduly interfering with the concert in progress We were wondering if any of the camera club would be interested in taking up the challenge? The majority of our concerts take place in and around Tenby We have a Press Office who writes an article for the Tenby Observer each week and whilst, this on-going assignment would be on a "no fee" basis, I'm sure he would be happy to print pictures with relevant personal credits on the photo's themselves for the benefit of the photographer. We hold 30 concerts each year - the majority of which are raising funds for charity - happy to acknowledge all pictures within our concert programme and website Any interest? Best regards -- David Stewart-Walvin Secretary - Tenby Male Choir

Seven Valley's 40's weekend

TENBY AND DISTRICT CAMERA CLUB

Over the weekend of 29th30th June members of the club travelled to Kidderminster to enjoy the Severn Valley Branch of the Great Western Railway 1940’s weekend.

Kidderminster and the stations on the line to Bridnorth all had displays of period vehicles both of military and civilian.

On the station concourse’s there were superb displays on the 1940’s memorabilia, air raid shelters, ARP post even a barber to give the fella’s a ‘short back and sides’. Hundreds of re-enactors were everywhere, military staff stopping you and asking for your identity cards. At Highley station a mock battle between the British and German troops took place with Mr Winston Churchill, General Montgomery addressing the nation from the station footbridge following the battle.

The weekend was full of photographic opportunities for the club members, so many being taken it was reported that a couple of photographers used up their battery power.

The weekend concluded with a mock wedding at Arley station under the watchful eye of the Home Guard. Finally at Kidderminster station a service of Remembrance for those who gave their lives during the 1940’s.
