AND DISTRICT CAMERA CLUB
At the club meeting held on Thursday 23rd
January members were asked to vote on the 37 projected images that the members
had submitted in this the 3rd mini competition titled ‘Abandoned and
Discarded’. Prior to the images being shown vice chairman Neil Thomas gave
members the results of the Brian Jennings Memorial Trophy, this is a
competition between 8 camera clubs, this year it was hosted by Trostre Camera
club; the judge Roy Thomas of Neath, after viewing all the prints with each
club entering 5 with a maximum of 100 points on offer. Llanelli Camera club
came 1st with 95 points with Tenby and District Camera club in 2nd
place with 94 points, and excellent result for this the first external club
competition of the year. The next external competition is the ‘Ace of Clubs’
were 30 projected images have been selected for entry.
Back to the mini competition the members
after seeing the images and scoring points from 1 to 5 awarded 3rd
place to Roy Packer with ‘No One Lives Here Anymore’, in 2nd place
Josephine Wakeman with ‘On the Rocks’ and the winning image ‘One Tank of Gas
and Back on the Road’ to Roy Packer.
Following the judging and a coffee break,
chairman Roy Packer gave a short talk/workshop on Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 5
making edits and adjustments. Roy
answered many questions from members. The members gave Roy a sounding round of applause for this
valuable contribution to the club scene.
