TENBY AND DISTRICT CAMERA CLUB The club meeting on Thursday 12th September was the first night of showing prints and images taken by members who attended the summer workshops and also the first mini-competition to be held this autumn with the theme being ‘Summer’, 83 digital entries were submitted and judged by the club members. The winning image was ‘Tenby Spectacular’ and the winning photographer Paul Deverson. In 2nd Place and joint 2nd was Gary Jenkins with both of his entries ‘Osprey’ and ‘Parlock Wier’, 4th was Paul Richards and 5th Dave Bolton. Following the judging and a coffee break Ray Hines explained to the 44 members who attended the club night, on the success of the summer workshop – 20 prints were on display and 90 digital images, showing the creativity and experience gained from the workshops. The chairman thanked Ray Hines and Doug Williams for their time and effort putting on this new event in the clubs diary, and went on to say that with these workshops and outings it allows the photographer to not only take the pictures but to enjoy the social side as well. Members submitted prints and digital images for the first open external competition, this to be judged on Thursday 3rd October. 26th September club chairman Roy Packer, giving a talk on ‘Lightroom 5’ and Silver FX Pro – black and white conversion.

Tenby Male Choir

Hello Roy - got your name and details from your Camera Club website As secretary of Tenby Male Choir I'm contacting you to see if we could mutually help each other The problem we have is that in order for us to take formal/semi-formal photo's when in concert we need one of our choristers to take photo's using my Nikon D40 camera - trouble is that the chorister is needed on stage as well! With all due respect to some of our lady supporters they try but aren't very successful! Technically it's quite a challenge to get decent shots without unduly interfering with the concert in progress We were wondering if any of the camera club would be interested in taking up the challenge? The majority of our concerts take place in and around Tenby We have a Press Office who writes an article for the Tenby Observer each week and whilst, this on-going assignment would be on a "no fee" basis, I'm sure he would be happy to print pictures with relevant personal credits on the photo's themselves for the benefit of the photographer. We hold 30 concerts each year - the majority of which are raising funds for charity - happy to acknowledge all pictures within our concert programme and website Any interest?
